Who Is The Black Chinaman?

Saving someone's life is like falling in love. The best drug in the world. For days, sometimes weeks afterwards, you walk the streets, making infinite whatever you see. Once, for a few weeks, I couldn't feel the earth - everything I touched became lighter. Horns played in my shoes. Flowers fell from my pockets. You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you? I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up. Living and working back in Brunei, after a 14 year absence... Also known as: Brunei, NASA, Bruise-Eye, Bru, Cheesecake, Nick, BruNick, BruMedNick, Two Step etc etc etc

What To Cook? Ideas?

Such is a fact of life...

This is quite funny actually....Gwen (the co-owner of the house, she's been nice all weekend) left early this morning, but then Midget came in with his kids, and made the usual heap of noise and all that...at that point, my playlist on Winamp decided to play "I Don't Like Mondays" and "You Shit Me To Tears" back to back...what compounded it even more was that the latter is sung by the band 'The Tenants'...

Monday, Bloody Monday...

We're going to have to go shopping soon so I can start cooking....I'm half half between cooking pavlova, Kasutera (a Japanese sponge cake) and cheesecake...like, should I do one big shop to make all those over the next few days, or actually just make small shops...one thing's for sure though, the fridge and freezer are both empty...

Had a massive BBQ last night cooking up what ever we had...was about time to finish up anything and everything anyhow...

But this bloody rain is getting a little annoying...should have done my laundry yesterday, but Woolies was closed yesterday, so today's shopping day (until 1800), but it's dropping nicely too...hrmm...

Had a decent talk to Grace last night...and let me tell you, it was an interesting one...it started by us talking about doing crazy things in life, like jumping out of perfectly good aircraft...and she said, "well, there's something that I think is crazier than jumping out of an aeroplane, and that's starting a relationship with you..." Yes, I did get her to repeat it twice...the gist of it is, I now have 'permission' to try to woo her...but got to give her time to be prepared...

I've got to technically prepare myself too...(no offense Grace)...it's been a while since my last relationship, and for those that knew, the last one didn't exactly have the greatest outcome...but it's been a few years, so I guess it's time to start fresh anyway...new town and all too...well, for the both of us anyhow...

Right, got to go shopping with the gang...will continue this in a bit...
