I really should update hey? 2005 and all...
Hmm, last update Christmas Eve...ok, Christmas day was the usual, went to the Big House for dinner, then home...Boxing Day everyone knows about - the Tsunami came along, and we were in church at the time, so we didn't really know about it until a bit later on in the night...Monday drove to Miri to stay overnight, and bright and early Tuesday we're off to Kuala Lumpur...and it was an alright stay there; sorry to say, but for once, we didn't have to rush around all day to look at the sights and all that - dad would have dragged us around and taken us to here, there, this way ect...and yea, for once, we just stayed in the hotel and slept, like, woke up in the morning for breaky, then back to sleep, lunch was either room service or we just waited for dinner...simple...all day, just chilling...and it was good...went to Planet Hollywood, and the food there was pretty alright; last time I've been in one was in another lifetime, when I was in Singapore for a birthday party...but that's a different story...went to see Menara Kuala Lumpur, which was the observation tower over KL, and also the Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC, the shopping centre below the towers...which arn't the tallest buildings in the world anymore as of 01 Jan 05...Thursday we went to Genting, which aparently when they were first building it was supposed to be the 'devil's playground' since it had a casino and all that...it's doing pretty well...considering I was kicked out for not being 21...hehe...that was a funny episode...but yea, the place is packed, nice and cool (got to wear my gurnsey there) a bit misty (misty both days - CURRENT WEATHER CONDITION: WET MIST) and a bit noisy - we lives in the 'Theme Park Hotel', which was one of several in the complex, but yea, if you haven't guessed, it was right next to the theme park...the entrance was next to the lobby in fact...and yea, due to mist, all we heard was 'rumble rumble rumble "EEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee...." click rumble rumble screech' all day...bloody rollercoasters and all that was still working, and we were on the 12th floor! (Well, it was actually the 6th, the lobby was already on level 6) Got to watch a show called H20, which was alright I guess, got the first seat in the house too, in the VIP section of the place...VIP 1-1 (meh)...up next to the stage, the chorus girls were alright...dum de dum de dum...blag...anyway, back to KL the next day, and we just sat around and had dinner and stuff for NYE...Carlsburg Elephant Red beer - STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY...6 course dinner, drinks...pretty alright...left the next day for Miri again, then arrived home itself on the second...
Since then: watched movies (Kung Fu Hustle, Phantom of The Opera and Meet The Fockers...got a new pair of glasses (my degree went up again :()...found out I can't sit for my drivers lisence...and got my UAI back...and I'm being attacked by hackers...anyway, I better be off...I'll try to post more soon...

Who Is The Black Chinaman?

- Nick
- Kuala Belait, Brunei
- Saving someone's life is like falling in love. The best drug in the world. For days, sometimes weeks afterwards, you walk the streets, making infinite whatever you see. Once, for a few weeks, I couldn't feel the earth - everything I touched became lighter. Horns played in my shoes. Flowers fell from my pockets. You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you? I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up. Living and working back in Brunei, after a 14 year absence... Also known as: Brunei, NASA, Bruise-Eye, Bru, Cheesecake, Nick, BruNick, BruMedNick, Two Step etc etc etc
