Who Is The Black Chinaman?

Saving someone's life is like falling in love. The best drug in the world. For days, sometimes weeks afterwards, you walk the streets, making infinite whatever you see. Once, for a few weeks, I couldn't feel the earth - everything I touched became lighter. Horns played in my shoes. Flowers fell from my pockets. You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you? I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up. Living and working back in Brunei, after a 14 year absence... Also known as: Brunei, NASA, Bruise-Eye, Bru, Cheesecake, Nick, BruNick, BruMedNick, Two Step etc etc etc

I got shattered over the weekend...went on my first pub crawl, and it was SWEET!

Started at the Park at about 2230 with Dan, met up with Chief and some of his mates, and at about 2300 got a call from Jonsey to meet him at the Family...so, Dan and myself was walking over when we ran into them coming up from the Family towards the Eddy...aparently Timmy (this really really HUGE Tongan fella) got into a fight over at the Family, and the cops came over and kicked everyone out...so we moved onto the Eddy, and I can't believe I paid SEVEN DOLLARS for A CAN (ONE CAN) of Bundy and Cola...considering a six-pack is about $14...bloody heck...

Finished up there around 0100, then stumbled over to the Ox for the third round...couldn't get in, so I jumped the fence (while Dan distracted the bouncers) and just sat there talking to Jono and his missus...met up with Deano and Tim too, and then all these Old Boys were there too...it was so cool meeting up with all the boys again, some of which I haven't seen in a couple of years...MET VIRGINIA TOO!!! One of the boys behind the bar was an Old Boy too, and he shouted me a couple of drinks...

I've got to finish the story later...bell's just gone...and I've got to go get pizzas for the tutor group...
