Today's the last night that I'm on holiday...later...I'm going back...return date...unknown...:(...
Finished packing...so all that's left is getting to the airport...in a couple of hours...
What can I say? The hols have been pretty interesting...recieved an e-mail from an old friend of mine (no pun intended)...sad to hear of deaths...always is...thought go out to you GK...you and you're family...
In other news...had dinner with the "family" and said good byes and well wishes...hope that I can come back again soon...
Was feeling bored...so I sent CNN a comment...what do you think?
"CNN has always been one of the favouriate family channels, providing up to the minute news coverage from around the world...thank you for doing so...
In regards to the war in Iraq...during a recent family discussion on the current situation (as we would normally do at the dinner table while CNN was on TV) in the Persian Gulf, one of the family members commented that the buildup of forces there are similar to events which happened over 30 years ago on another side of the world, in Vietnam...the images of troops saying their goodbyes to loved ones...it can only be prayed for that they all would return home safely...no matter which country or which side they are supporting...
Now, ponder this; why is it that it's ok for a person (and/or country) to allow the "mindless" killing of his own forces as well as that of other human beings? We are not much different to the people that we view as "devils", weather we like it or not, and if you'll ask them, they'll probably view us as "infedels"...if you want to argue that Iraq is an "evil country" in the eyes of the West, they would probably view those said counties in the same manner...and if you think about it really really closely...the West is bullying Iraq in a sense...a coalition is forming to have a war with a recgonised country of the UN...isn't this more or less the same image as that of the gang of school bullies picking on a weaker student in the playground?
Every country puts into the minds of her soldiers that it is their sacret rite to defend morality and their homeland...can't this be done without the need of violence? It has been done before...and do not tell me that it cannot be done again...have a war...by all means...but in a conference room, while fathers, mothers, sons and daughters are together safe at home with loved ones..."
Right...gtg ppl...read (or listen...rent the Vid/DVD) the following words of wisdom...;)
Robin Williams...gotta love him:
"GOOOOD MORNING VIETNAM! Hey, this is not a test, this is rock and roll! Time to rock it from the Delta to the DMZ. Hey, is that just me or does that sound like an Elvis Presley movie? Viva Da Nang. Ohhh, Viva Da Nang! Da Nang Me, Da Nang me, why don't you get a rope and hang me! Hey, is it a little too early to be this loud? TOO LATE! What's the time? It's 0600, what's the "0" stand for: "Oh my God it's early!"...."
[Jk bout the words of wisdom part...;)...later]
Who Is The Black Chinaman?

- Saving someone's life is like falling in love. The best drug in the world. For days, sometimes weeks afterwards, you walk the streets, making infinite whatever you see. Once, for a few weeks, I couldn't feel the earth - everything I touched became lighter. Horns played in my shoes. Flowers fell from my pockets. You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you? I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up. Living and working back in Brunei, after a 14 year absence... Also known as: Brunei, NASA, Bruise-Eye, Bru, Cheesecake, Nick, BruNick, BruMedNick, Two Step etc etc etc
