St Valentine's Day yesterday...anyone got a rose (or a dozen)?
Hehe...it was an ok day for being alone I guess...nothing much happened...just too hot for anything to happen actually...have a look at the link and -hopefully- you can understand some of it...temperatures are at the end of the report...
Last week has been uneventful...started TAFE again, but moved the days from Wednesdays to Thursdays...so that should have a clamp on activities at school like Cantor Group and Stage Band...going to already have to miss the first period because of it...but I think it's all for the best, considering what happened on Friday night...
Friday night there was the annual College Twilight Swimming Carnival, where the kids swim to win places in the school swim team 2004...anyway, there was numerous things that I had to do that night, with the help with Godbee, Joab and Toomy Toon...we were sorting out the PA system and drinks for the Yr 12 BBQ Fund...the drinks went well; we bought 216 cans of drinks (plus the other 60 that we already had in storage, which equals to 276), 78 bottles of water and 30 kg of ice for a nice neat amount of $170.75...we've got about 60 drinks left after the end of the night...plus a profit so far of $70...and a tab from the teachers of $30...like I said earlier, that went well...the problems started when the carni finished, and we had to pack away the PA equipment...well, the keys didn't work, so, being borders, we decided to enter the building in anyway possible...put it this way...we "broke" in, but through an open window...so, storing the equipment away, we decided to call the boss and tell him of the lax in security...and in other words, I'm scared to go to school tomorrow and talk to him...that was after he cursed my existence and hung up on me...talking to Godbee, being the wonderful friend that he is, I asked him to come with me and explain...bastard can't be found....*grrr*...gee...am I in the shit now...("Send money, guns and lawyers, the shit has hit the fan")
In other news, next week I think Bill's coming over from Orange and grabbing a bite with me somewhere downtown...should be cool catching up with him again...haven't seen him in about a year and a half...he's how I met Candice...speaking of which...
Candice's someone that Bill introduced me to when I went to his place for the first time about 3 years ago...and we've been communicating sporadically for the past couple of years (as you can imagine)...well, finally got to asking her for her phone number, and we've been talking and so forth, and I invited her to the 3 (NSW) Wing Cadet Consultative Group (3 WG CCG)'s Annual Ball, which is a black-tie at the Four Seasons Menzies in the Sydney CBD...not really the "big" event of the year, but close to...sorta organising that with Cookie, and so far it looks pretty ok...but yea...her birthday is the Sunday after the ball (which is on Saturday, 29 MAY 04), so I'm trying to make it a sorta birthday thing for her too...quietly of course...:D
Back to Billiam...his paternal grandmama unfortunately died a couple of months ago, and I only found out yesterday, so I'm kinda sorrowful about that...I've met her a couple of times when I went to visit them, and she was always smiling and laughing and begin jovial...sad to see her go, but I guess it's got to be better than this place...
Dad's alright...apparently the last set of chemo removed the lumps under his arms and in his abdomen, so we'll just have to see how it goes in the next month or so...
And I screwed my back up last week too...it's fixed so far, but I have to go for a follow up tomorrow...yea, that bad...
What's going on with some people? They've seemed to have fallen off the face of the earth...bugger...
Well, it's too hot here in the library, going to go for a swim before the boys have to go to church...
Bye for now...and till next time...
Who Is The Black Chinaman?

- Saving someone's life is like falling in love. The best drug in the world. For days, sometimes weeks afterwards, you walk the streets, making infinite whatever you see. Once, for a few weeks, I couldn't feel the earth - everything I touched became lighter. Horns played in my shoes. Flowers fell from my pockets. You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you? I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up. Living and working back in Brunei, after a 14 year absence... Also known as: Brunei, NASA, Bruise-Eye, Bru, Cheesecake, Nick, BruNick, BruMedNick, Two Step etc etc etc
