Who Is The Black Chinaman?

Saving someone's life is like falling in love. The best drug in the world. For days, sometimes weeks afterwards, you walk the streets, making infinite whatever you see. Once, for a few weeks, I couldn't feel the earth - everything I touched became lighter. Horns played in my shoes. Flowers fell from my pockets. You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you? I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up. Living and working back in Brunei, after a 14 year absence... Also known as: Brunei, NASA, Bruise-Eye, Bru, Cheesecake, Nick, BruNick, BruMedNick, Two Step etc etc etc

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

It was a pretty neat night over at the church...the Choir sang pretty much in tune, cept for the Mass Proper (ie: Lord's Prayer, Glory Be...) because the Tenors are still unsure of the tunes and pitches of the music...it'll all be done in time...:)

Apart from that, nothing much else happened...some work was completed around the house, and a friend's bike got stolen earlier this evening, bloody bastards...Merry Christmas to those thieving, gutless pricks...they stole it from the Church grounds too, cut the lock and off they went...bloody shame...will have to pray for them...

Yea...that's more or less what's been happening the past two days...

Later on the family's going up to the Big House for a family get together that we have annually, so that should be fun...

Oh, nearly forgot, I got to drive tonight...an interesting time to let me drive, real late while it's wet and raining...oh well...managed to get back without too many dramas!

I've got to go to bed...dog tired..........
