Mmm...Christmas...
Playing Minesweeper on MSN with Flo...she's killing me, but I'm not complaining...I'm not really in the mood for complaining...too much sherry at lunch...:D...Seven Hills, SA...really neat stuff...
Well, the family all came together and just had this really nice lunch...the Oreo cheesecake didn't go askew for deserts, but hey, neither did the sherry...! The spread was pretty extensive, but I was enjoying myself on mostly salads and the garlic bread...chicken and pasta salad, potato salad, just cut veges with dip...excellent stuff...:)
Then came the prezzies...between my sis and myself, we managed to get $70 each, so that wasn't all that too bad...my aunt also got for me the complete works of Oscar Wilde...and my cuz Josh got the Sarong Party Girl (SPG) collection...upon asking my aunt WHY she got my Oscar Wilde instead of the SPG...she was going..."Who asked you to be the learned type?" Joshie, in the meantime, was enjoying the cartoons and laughing his head off (I'm not sure if that's the effect of the comics OR the sherry OR both...!)...ahh...Christmas...
Got my report today too...not that too bad...mostly Cs and a couple of B's...I've got to get my arse into gear for next year...only 10 or so more months until the biggest exams of my life...
I'm still wondering what Julia's thinking...she's probably got the letter by now...ahhh...only time will tell...
For some reason, the Skorpions' "Wind Of Change" came to mind then...
"...Take me, to the magic of the moment, on a glory night, where the children of tomorrow dream away, in the Wind of Change......"
Who Is The Black Chinaman?

- Nick
- Kuala Belait, Brunei
- Saving someone's life is like falling in love. The best drug in the world. For days, sometimes weeks afterwards, you walk the streets, making infinite whatever you see. Once, for a few weeks, I couldn't feel the earth - everything I touched became lighter. Horns played in my shoes. Flowers fell from my pockets. You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you? I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up. Living and working back in Brunei, after a 14 year absence... Also known as: Brunei, NASA, Bruise-Eye, Bru, Cheesecake, Nick, BruNick, BruMedNick, Two Step etc etc etc
