Who Is The Black Chinaman?

Saving someone's life is like falling in love. The best drug in the world. For days, sometimes weeks afterwards, you walk the streets, making infinite whatever you see. Once, for a few weeks, I couldn't feel the earth - everything I touched became lighter. Horns played in my shoes. Flowers fell from my pockets. You wonder if you've become immortal, as if you've saved your own life as well. God has passed through you. Why deny it, that for a moment there - why deny that for a moment there, God was you? I realised that my training was useful in less than ten percent of the calls, and saving lives was rarer than that. After a while, I grew to understand that my role was less about saving lives than about bearing witness. I was a grief mop. It was enough that I simply turned up. Living and working back in Brunei, after a 14 year absence... Also known as: Brunei, NASA, Bruise-Eye, Bru, Cheesecake, Nick, BruNick, BruMedNick, Two Step etc etc etc

This is actually quite embarrassing, me not updating since sometime in Feb...just been real busy, but apart from that, there's no other excuse...

Well, things have changed drasticly since the last time I've updated this. I'm now in Uni, studying to become a paramedic, and I'm also a St John Ambulance volunteer, which is quite cool at the worst of times...I'm now qualified to administer oxygen and analgesic gases, which was a cool course to attend...and hopefully, after this weekend, I'll have my Advanced First Aid certificate...here's hoping...

Uni's pretty fun too, learning heaps of new stuff and skills...and making heaps of new friends too...after St Paddy's Day, personally I think that my tutorial group is the closest in the course...there's only 10 of us, and we did have a good time on Paddy's with a BBQ and pub run after seeing Evermore at the Unibar...lots of fun...

And I think I've met someone too...her name's Sam, and yea, she's really someone that I enjoy being around...hopefully something will eventuate...we'll see...

Still working in admin, loving my time there *cough cough*...somethings have been happening, but I can't really say what's going on - go the confidentiality agreements - but they're not pretty...meh...it's still a job, and I just have to work in my little nook to get out of the way...

Mmmm...food sounds good at this time, as does sleep...hmm, what to do...decisions decisions decisions...meh, sleep first...after I finish this of course...

Apart from that, not alot is going on...everyone knews about the Pope passing on, apart from me, only because I was camping that weekend and didn't find out until the Sunday when we got back into town...the scary thing is that the world could have ended and we wouldn't have known about it till we came out...so very "Tomorrow, when the war began"...

Rightski, of to bedski...hooroo, and remember, if it's not on, it's not on...
